In a move spotlighting the intersection of education and economic advancement, Governor Greg Abbott has announced the appointment of Dr. Wynn Rosser to the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB). With the term extending until June 30, 2029, Rosser's expertise is expected to reinforce the board's ongoing efforts to enhance public education across all levels.
Rosser, currently helming the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board as its Commissioner and CEO, brings to the table a robust background in both education and practical skill sets. With a diverse educational journey that spans an associate degree from Kilgore College to a doctorate from Texas A&M University, his academic acumen is clearly extensive. Alongside his educational credentials, he also possesses practical experience as evidenced by his Emergency Medical Technician Certificate from the School of EMS in Tyler, a detail highlighted by a press release from the Office of the Texas Governor.
The SREB stands as a testament to the vision of southern states, recognized since its 1948 inception, that education serves as a key driver for regional economic success. Rosser joins the ranks of other appointed board members tasked with this mission of educational improvement, shaping policy, and sharing best practices.
