A driver has been arrested after leading police on a chase that ended in a crash on the I-11 in east Las Vegas early Friday morning. According to FOX5 Vegas, the event started around 3 a.m. when the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department tried to pull over a driver suspected of impairment at Sahara and Atlantic. The driver, however, decided against staying and fled the scene at high speed.
Continuing the pursuit onto I-11 from Boulder Highway, the suspect was involved in a collision with another vehicle near the Flamingo Road exit, News 3 LV reports. Following the crash, the suspect was taken into custody. The identity of the individual has not been released.
The chase and crash closed two of three southbound lanes between Boulder and Flamingo, causing morning traffic delays. The lanes reopened around 5 a.m., according to FOX5 Vegas.
