A fatal incident occurred yesterday morning when a driver, after a possible medical episode, lost control of their vehicle and collided with a tree in Pine Hills. As reported by ClickOrlando, the crash took place around 11:30 a.m. in a business parking lot located off N Hiawassee Road, just south of Stardust Lane.
The Florida Highway Patrol, still investigating the crash, stated that the driver was behind the wheel of a 2022 Toyota Camry, which veered off the parking lot surface, entered a ditch, hit a tree, and sustained fatal injuries, according to a preliminary report. Following the incident, emergency responders transported the driver to Health Central Hospital, where they were ultimately pronounced dead, as further detailed by a report from WFTV.
Authorities have indicated that there were no road closures stemming from the accident, thus not impacting the traffic flow in the area. The identity of the driver has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
