
The City of Duncanville has received the Government Finance Officers Association’s Certificate of Achievement for its 2024 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. The award recognizes governments that demonstrate strong financial reporting, transparency, and clear communication.
Interim City Manager Richard B. Abernethy praised the Fiscal Services team for their professionalism and dedication, noting that the recognition reinforces public confidence in how the city manages its finances. The achievement highlights Duncanville’s commitment to maintaining high standards in its financial practices, according to the City of Duncanville.
In addition to the citywide honor, the Fiscal Services team earned the GFOA’s Award of Financial Reporting Achievement, which specifically acknowledges the staff responsible for preparing the report. The GFOA has been presenting these awards since 1945 to encourage excellence in government financial reporting across North America.
