The Bexar County Sheriff's Office is once again piecing together the details of a shooting incident that took place on the East Side, specifically around the 3700 block of Candleglenn, drawing attention for the second time this year to the upticks in gun violence within community-boundary lines, sources say that the shooting occurred just before 4 p.m. on Sunday, an area already tense with the echoes of past violence.
Responding to the incident around 3:45 p.m., law enforcement received multiple calls of shots fired; it has resulted in at least one person sustaining a gunshot wound to the leg, and now, multiple suspects are reportedly on the run, with authorities currently searching for up to three individuals connected to the event, according to FOX San Antonio and KENS 5.
The locations caught up in the law enforcement's probe include the space near a Wez Mart gas station; though the exact site of the shooting has not been confirmed, the area now bears the weight of a scene cordoned off with the familiar yellow tape, as officials diligently comb through the backdrop of the day's chaos looking for clues, meanwhile, no further information on the cause of the shooting has been confirmed at this stage.
Details on the suspects remain scarce, their descriptions yet to be sketched out to the public, leaving residents of the area in a limbo of discomfort and trepidation, as reported by both FOX San Antonio and KENS 5.
