The efforts of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the El Paso field office ports of entry yielded a considerable haul when they interdicted 263.1 kilos of narcotics in just one week, spanning from October 26 to November 1. According to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the drugs were confiscated from seven different passenger vehicles attempting to pass through the Santa Teresa, Paso del Norte, Bridge of the Americas, and Ysleta Ports of Entry.

CBP officers employed their trained canine units, sophisticated nonintrusive inspection technology, and hands-on physical inspections to significantly disrupt the smuggling of these substances. The breakdown of the seized drugs includes 81.44 kilos of cocaine, 10.68 kilos of fentanyl, 129.32 kilos of methamphetamine, and 41.7 kilos of marijuana. The seizures have variously been accepted for federal or state prosecution. Hector Mancha, CBP El Paso Director of Field Operations, told U.S. Customs and Border Protection, "I am glad that our team has disrupted these narcotics smuggling attempts and these dangerous controlled substances will not be transported further into the United States."

The seizures highlight the ongoing battle against the flow of illegal narcotics across the border. In the Fiscal Year 2025, CBP's El Paso Field Office has already seized a total of 5,927 pounds of illegal narcotics, showcasing the persistent efforts of the officers in keeping these illicit substances off the streets.
