El Paso's very own Young Women’s STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy is extending an open invitation to interested students and their families for an insight into their unique educational approach. The program night, scheduled for November 6 from 5:30–7 p.m., is an opportunity to explore the first single-gender New Tech Network Academy in the nation, which has been nurturing creative and scholarly talents since 2017. The event is tailored for those who wish to experience an all-girls learning environment and to meet the dedicated educators who foster the development of young women.

As the only single-gender campus in El Paso ISD, the academy has been acknowledged for its commitment to providing an atmosphere that supports the success of girls. It's not a surprise that since its inception, the academy has garnered recognition, most recently joining the Young Women’s Preparatory Network in 2024, thereby widening student prospects for college preparedness and leadership development. The academy prides itself on a two-time AP Platinum School title and earning the College Board’s Female Diversity Award in Computer Science Principles and Computer Science A, ensuring that students have equitable access to AP courses, including the AP Capstone Diploma.

Project- and Problem-Based Learning are at the core of the academy's philosophy, engaging students in STEAM-centered experiences that sharpen critical thinking and encourage innovation. As obtained by El Paso ISD, the academy emphasizes that learning is "hands-on, collaborative, and connected to real-world applications," laying the groundwork for students to design impactful solutions and emerge as future leaders.

Beyond rigorous academics, the academy boasts a vibrant array of extracurricular activities, from Drumline to Varsity sports. These programs allow young women to express themselves, build confidence, and step into roles of leadership, all while enjoying the teamwork and camaraderie that comes with being part of a group. "Our students thrive in a culture built on Trust, Respect, and Responsibility," the academy shared, as per El Paso ISD, underlining the holistic approach to student development, nurturing the mind, body, and spirit within an empathetic, resilient, and globally aware context.
