
The Elk Grove Police Department has teamed up with the Black Youth Leadership Project for a Thanksgiving event aimed at helping local families in need. In a Facebook post, the department said, "It’s that time of year again! We’re proud to once again partner with Black Youth Leadership Project (BYLP) for our 3rd Annual Love Thy Neighbor Turkey Giveaway," inviting the community to join the holiday effort, as reported by the Elk Grove Police Department.
The event is aimed at supporting those in need during the Thanksgiving season. The post said, "This collaboration reflects what community is all about, coming together to spread warmth, gratitude, and hope to those who need it most," emphasizing the role of volunteers and local organizations in the initiative, as stated by the Elk Grove Police Department.
The "Love Thy Neighbor Turkey Giveaway" is entering its third year, organized by the Elk Grove Police Department and BYLP. According to the Elk Grove Police Department on their Facebook page, the event depends on volunteers to hand out turkeys to local residents for the holiday season.
