Travelers planning on using I-90 eastbound near Elyria this weekend should be prepared for delays. The Elyria Police Department has reported a traffic disruption just east of SR 57 caused by a semi-truck incident. In an update posted to their Facebook page, they advised, "Please expect traffic delays on I-90 eastbound just east of SR 57 due to a semi-truck driver who lost control and became disabled."
As crews work to remove the disabled vehicle, akin to a blockage in the arteries of our transportation network, the department has stated that thankfully, there are no injuries resulting from the incident. With only one vehicle involved, the major issue remains the disruption of flow for the holiday weekend travelers.
The delays come at a time when Lorain County is under a Level 1 snow emergency, urging drivers to operate their vehicles with extra caution on the wet and slippery roads.
