A man with an outstanding felony warrant attempted to evade Fairfield police last Saturday but was ultimately arrested after an officer outpaced him on foot, authorities said.

According to a social media post by the Fairfield, CA Police Department, the incident occurred at around 9:02 PM in the vicinity of West Texas Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. Officer Driscoll identified the man, recognized for his active warrant, and made an effort to stop him. In a bid to escape, the man, Bobby White, commandeered a bicycle and fled the scene.

As reported by the department, Officer Scherer, along with Officer Edmisten, responded to the incident and pursued White on foot. Officer Scherer managed to catch up to White despite the latter's advantage on two wheels. The chase culminated in White's arrest, even as he pedaled in a desperate attempt to get away.

35-year-old White now faces charges for drug possession in addition to being apprehended for the outstanding warrant.
