In Fairfield, a pedestrian was struck and suffered from major injuries in a traffic collision last Friday, as reported by the Fairfield Police Department.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:14 PM when Fairfield Police officers were called to the scene on Sunset Avenue, just north of East Travis Boulevard. Upon their arrival, they found a pedestrian who had been hit by a vehicle. The injured party was quickly transported to a local hospital, their condition a stark reminder of the fragility of human life amidst the mechanized dangers of our roads. According to a Facebook post by the Fairfield Police Department, the driver involved, 57-year-old Monte Parker, was arrested and charged with DUI.
