According to the Fairfield Police Department, the encounter, which began at approximately 7:58 AM, escalated when the driver failed to obey police commands and reached back into his vehicle, prompting his arrest. A subsequent search of the car revealed evidence suggesting the possession of narcotics with the intent to sell.
The situation, occurring under the shadow of dawn's first light, resulted in dual arrests; the 45-year-old driver and a 32-year-old passenger found themselves in handcuffs for multiple violations. Among the charges listed by the Fairfield Police Department's post were possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest.
