On a recent patrol near a 7-Eleven at the corner of Pennsylvania and Tab, Fairfield Police Department's Detective Wiest encountered a man whose behavior raised suspicion. According to a social media post by the Fairfield Police Department, the man appeared to be about to hide something in the bushes. Although nothing was discovered initially, and the man was released, smart collaboration between the detective and dispatch led to a significant drug seizure.
Following the initial encounter, Detective Wiest asked dispatch to monitor the location's cameras. Their vigilance paid off when dispatch noticed the man returning to the bushes, this time with an accomplice. Both individuals appeared engaged in a thorough search. Responding to dispatch's notification, Detective Wiest promptly detained the duo and unearthed 105 grams of what is suspected to be methamphetamine, divided into 26 smaller packages.
The discovery led to the arrest of John Joshua, who now faces charges for possession and parole violation.
