In a tragic turn of events, a collision in Modesto has led to a fatality. The Modesto Police Department reported that on October 25, two vehicles collided at the intersection of Pelandale Avenue and Prescott Road. The accident happened just before 8:00 AM, according to the department's social media post.
One of the drivers was critically injured in the accident and transported to a local hospital while the other sustained minor injuries. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2005 Honda Accord, which was traveling northbound on Prescott Road, collided with a 2009 Nissan Cube that was going eastbound on Pelandale Avenue. Ejected from the Nissan Cube and critically injured, bystanders initiated CPR until medics arrived and took over the life-saving efforts.
Last Sunday the Modesto Police Traffic Safety Unit received the somber news; the driver from the Nissan Cube, who had been hospitalized since the collision, had succumbed to their injuries. In sharing the news, the Modesto Police indicated that neither drugs nor alcohol seemed to play a role in the incident. Currently, no further details about the accident have been made public.
