
The streets of southeast Las Vegas became the setting of tragedy early Saturday morning when a motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash at the intersection of East Tropicana Avenue and Mountain Vista Street, FOX5 Vegas reports.
A 45-year-old man riding a 2007 Yamaha R6 died after colliding with a 2018 Chevrolet truck around 3:40 a.m. The truck driver failed to yield while turning left onto Mountain Vista and fled the scene. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the site, News3LV reports.
The LVMPD Collision Investigation Section is reviewing evidence, including witness statements and surveillance footage. The motorcyclist, whose identity has not been released, marks the 147th traffic-related fatality in the department’s jurisdiction this year. Authorities are asking the public for any information.
