A violent incident occurred early Monday near Times Square, involving a young man who sustained fatal injuries. According to reports by ABC7NY, the 23-year-old victim was stabbed multiple times in the back and in his right thigh at around 1 a.m. on West 49th Street and Seventh Avenue.
Following the attack, the man was transported to Bellevue Hospital where he was pronounced dead, the situation in Midtown growing increasingly dire with this marking the second homicide in that precinct in just as many days, a previous incident involving Gibson Winters, a 39-year-old man shot outside a nightclub in Hell's Kitchen, also remains unsolved with no arrests yet made. Police have suspects yet to be apprehend ed in relation to the Times Square stabbing, actively searching for three males who were described by the New York Post — one adorned in a purple sweater and black ski mask, another in a black jacket, dark trousers, and brown boots, and the third suspect wearing all black garments with no detailed arrest made at this time.
The immediate motive behind the stabbing is unclear, but investigators believe that the assault could be part of a larger ongoing dispute spanning several blocks in the city.
The victim’s identity has not been released. Police are actively searching for the three suspects, whose descriptions have been circulated. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
