In an effort to bring holiday cheer to those in need, the Federal Way Police Department alongside other city agencies are calling upon the community to join in on their Holiday Food Drive. The drive commenced today and runs through November 21, aiming to gather support for both the Multi-Service Center and the Federal Way Senior Center, according to the Federal Way Police Department Facebook page.
Members of the community are encouraged to drop off nonperishable food items, which include rice, beans, pasta, and canned goods among others, to help fill the shelves of local food banks. Donations can be made in person at the police station located at 33325 8th Ave S, Federal Way, WA, from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. In an attempt to make the process easier, donations can also be made online, where every dollar donated is intended to be counted as one pound towards the drive's goal, as reported by the Federal Way Police Department.
According to the social media post from Federal Way Police Department, community members wishing to contribute online should visit www.federalwaywa.gov, ensuring they include "FW City Food Drive" and the name of the city department they wish to donate under with their contribution.
