On November 13th, Fillmore resident Jesus Alvarez found himself in handcuffs, facing charges for illegal firearm possession. The incident traces back to an October 30th assault with a deadly weapon on the 200 block of E. Telegraph Road. Within an hour of the reported assault, Fillmore deputies apprehended suspect Juan Saucedo, subsequently leading to a search warrant at the crime scene's address, according to a news release from the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.
The real twist, however, came when investigating officers unearthed a .357 revolver in the suspect's residence that ultimately tied 31-year-old Jesus Alvarez to the case. Alvarez, a convicted felon, was not present during the search but later found himself on the wrong side of the law again for supposedly having the firearm registered to someone off-site.
