The collision occurred yesterday just after 6 p.m., along East Penn Street. According to WPXI, the ambulance sustained significant damage and needed to be towed from the scene.
It was further reported that the crash involved what appeared to be a Ford Bronco and an ambulance. The five individuals hospitalized were mostly taken as precautionary measures, and there were no reports of serious injuries, as indicated by Fayette County dispatchers in a statement reported by WTAE. The authorities have yet to clarify whether the ambulance was in the process of transporting anyone to the hospital when the crash occurred.
