Flagstaff residents should take note of the upcoming city facility closures scheduled for Veterans Day. According to a recent announcement from the City of Flagstaff, City Hall, along with several other facilities, will be closed this coming Tuesday in observance of the holiday. The closures include administrative offices at 211 W. Aspen Ave., as well as public spaces such as libraries and recreation centers. Regular activities are set to resume the following day, Wednesday. For those planning to visit, The Aquaplex will maintain normal operating hours, and the Jay Lively Activity Center will continue with its regularly scheduled programming.

Residents will also need to adjust their schedules for trash and recycling services, which will be temporarily suspended on Veterans Day. The City advises that customers who normally receive trash pickup on Tuesday can expect to have their waste collected on Wednesday, Nov. 12. Recycling services scheduled for the same day will be moved to Thursday, Nov. 13. residents must plan to accommodate these one-time changes—even if it means quickly adapting their weekly household routines. All other residential customers who do not have Tuesday services will experience no changes to their schedule.

Similarly, commercial trash and recycling services will not operate on Tuesday. However, the City has outlined plans to conduct collections throughout the week to make up for the service interruption on the holiday. This is to ensure no accumulation of waste hinders the businesses during this period of closure and observance.
