The City of Folsom is taking strides to modernize the Folsom Public Library by replacing its outdated heating and air conditioning units. A substantial investment of $300,000 was sanctioned on October 28 by the Folsom City Council.
The decision follows the recognition that the existing rooftop HVAC units, which have been operating since the library's inception 18 years ago, are now beyond repair and financially burdensome to maintain.
According to the City of Folsom’s announcement, the new system is expected to significantly enhance energy efficiency and overall comfort for the library's patrons and workforce. It is not just about replacing equipment, it's a move towards upgrading the facility's sustainability and dependability. The Folsom Parks & Recreation Department is at the helm of this project, employing a cooperative purchasing strategy to ensure cost-effectiveness and a seamless operational flow.
