Fort Worth citizens, mark your calendars – America Recycles Day is fast approaching. Saturday, Nov. 15, promises to be a day dedicated to sustainability, with events spreading the green gospel across two public library locations in the city. According to a press release from the City of Fort Worth, you can join the festivities from 10 a.m. to noon at the Golden Triangle Library and Vivian J. Lincoln Library for a mix of live demonstrations and interactive learning, all designed to provide a deeper understanding of the recycling process.
In a push to raise awareness, the staff at these library hubs are set to engage residents with recycling games and hands-on experiences. There's also an opportunity to take the Recycling Pledge, which is part of a city-wide initiative to bolster Fort Worth’s recycling efforts. In a clear attempt to bridge the gap between theory and practice, the city's residential collections partner, WM, will demonstrate its high-tech Material Recovery Facility – a cornerstone of modern recycling operations, while its trucks serve as tangible proof of the city's commitment to the cause.
The week preceding the Saturday extravaganza, from Nov. 9 to Nov. 14, isn't one to be overlooked either. Dubbed 'Recycle Week', these days offer a variety of recycling-themed activities at different Fort Worth Public Library locations, as highlighted by the City of Fort Worth's official website. From story hours catered towards the younger eco-warriors to recycled art displays that showcase the creative potential of repurposed materials, the city libraries are setting the stage for a full week of environmental education and fun.
