A stretch of Columbia Avenue in Franklin, Tennessee, will be closed off to vehicles Saturday morning, the city's municipal government has announced. The temporary closure will run from Mack Hatcher to Werthan Circle and is scheduled between 8 AM and 9 AM to accommodate an Honor Walk commemorating Allan Williams, a local Flight Nurse/Paramedic who recently died in the line of duty.
The City of Franklin advised motorists to seek alternate routes while the event is underway. The Honor Walk is set to precede William's funeral service, marking a pause for the community and his fellow first responders to honor his service and legacy.
Allan Williams, remembered as a dedicated Vanderbilt LifeFlight team member and resident of the Franklin community, will be honored as the procession makes its way along the closed-off corridor. The city's gesture signifies a collective tribute, honoring the sacrifice of those who serve in critical, often perilous, roles for public safety and health.
Residents and commuters are reminded, of the road closure and are thanked in advance by the City of Franklin for their cooperation and understanding during this somber occasion. Williams' contribution to the city and the realm of emergency services is set to be acknowledged by a gathering of like-minded individuals, unified in respect and driven by a common acknowledgment of service beyond oneself.
