Residents in southeast Colorado Springs have a timely invitation to prioritize their health this weekend. A free Women's Health Fair is setting up shop at the Deerfield Hills Community Center, located at 4290 Deerfield Hills Road. All are welcome this Saturday, Nov. 22, from 10 a.m. to noon.
The community-centered event doesn't require registration and aims to serve women of varying ages with on-the-spot health screenings and wellness resources. Among the offerings, attendees will find STI testing, reproductive health services, and support for expectant parents and their families. Adding to the roster are specialists from Katie’s Way Colorado Springs, ready to guide residents on managing anxiety and depression. The fair serves as a comprehensive hub for trusted information and preventive care, with immediate access to programs promoting long-term wellness, as reported by the City of Colorado Springs.
In addition to health services, the fair will also celebrate the opening of a new on-site resource: the Period Pantry at Deerfield Hills Community Center. This initiative was made possible through a collaboration with Period Possible and is geared towards providing free menstrual products to community members, a vital step towards health equity by removing financial barriers to essential care.
