The social media post by the department chronicled the events of last Sunday when a 69-year-old man collapsed near the police department on Industrial Drive.
The rapid response from GPD officers occurred moments after the man's wife dialed 911 to alert authorities of her husband's condition. The team managed to arrive within minutes, swiftly beginning life-saving procedures. The officers carried out CPR and used an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to resuscitate the man, a tremendous example showing the critical importance of quick action in emergency situations. According to the Facebook post by the Galt Police Department, the officers continued providing care even after Cosumnes Fire personnel arrived on the scene, contributing to the successful revival of the patient.
Following the incident, the individual was transported to a local hospital where he is reportedly recovering well. This positive outcome was shared by the police department with evident pride. The man's family expressed their heartfelt gratitude in person the following day, deeply thankful for the actions that had been crucial in saving a life.
