Texas Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Elizabeth Factor and reappointed Jelain Chubb to the Texas Historical Records Advisory Board. Factor will serve until February 1, 2027, and Chubb until February 1, 2029, according to a statement from the Office of the Texas Governor.
The board works to improve archival and records storage conditions across Texas, helping to preserve important historical documents from the state’s early history to the present.
Elizabeth Factor serves as director and executive vice president of IntraBio, Inc. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Southern District of New York Federal District Court. Factor holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Columbia University and a Juris Doctor from Yale Law School.
Jelain Chubb continues in her role as director of the Archives and Information Services Division and Texas state archivist at the Texas State Library and Archives Commission. She is a fellow of the Society of American Archivists and a member of several professional organizations. Chubb earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from the College of Charleston and two Master’s degrees from the University of South Carolina—one in Applied History with a focus on Archival Administration and another in Library and Information Science.
Their appointments support the ongoing work of preserving Texas’ historical records for future generations.
