A hit-and-run incident on Friday evening in Gulfport has left two people critically injured, as reported by multiple sources. The victims, identified by FOX 13 News as Michael Lynch, 61, and Kristen Lynch, 42, were riding an electric scooter when they were struck by a vehicle. Deputies responded to the scene at the intersection of Gulfport Blvd. and Luana Lane S after receiving several 911 calls concerning two individuals lying in the road.
First responders arriving at approximately 7:20 p.m. found the pair with critical injuries, the investigation by the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is ongoing and they are seeking information about an older model SUV seen with heavy front-end damage and a patented triangle-shaped driver's side window, WFLA reports.
The vehicle involved did not stop to offer aid to the victims and was last noted heading eastbound on Gulfport Blvd. Patch detailed that both individuals were promptly transported to a local hospital where they remain struggling for life amidst the callous shadow of an unsolved hit-and-run.
Authorities urge anyone with information about this crash to connect with Deputy J. Toro via email at [email protected] or by calling 727-582-6200, these details were emphasized by both FOX 13 News and WFLA in response to the investigators' search for a culprit who left without a trace leaving the community to stitch together the remnants of Friday evening's tragedy.
