A late-night fight at the Icon Apartments on Patricia Drive in San Antonio on Saturday left one man critically injured and another in custody. Police responded just after 10 p.m. to a disturbance between two men, during which one fired a gun. The injured man was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, and no other injuries were reported, as reported by KENS5.
Icon Apartments No Stranger To Emergency Lights
The Icon complex has seen its share of drama in recent years. In 2023, a lightning strike sparked a fire that displaced residents at the property on Patricia Drive, according to MySA.
Then, in 2024, an officer-involved shooting at the same apartments drew another major response, a scene documented in coverage by KSAT. The back-to-back incidents help explain why residents have grown used to the sight of flashing lights in the parking lot.
Suspect Detained As Detectives Dig Into Fight
San Antonio police said a suspect was taken into custody at or near the scene, though investigators had not yet specified what charges might follow, as per KENS5. Detectives are working to piece together what led up to the confrontation and the shooting.
Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 210-224-STOP (210-224-7867) or text Tip 127 plus details to CRIMES (274637), according to local guidance on anonymous tip reporting. Police say the investigation remains active.
