As the year winds down, the City of Hamilton can chalk up a series of successful street and infrastructure projects aimed towards enhancing the city's travel and safety. The city's crews have wrapped up paving efforts on more than 45 streets, ensuring more connected and navigable neighborhoods—with plans already in motion for paving an additional 40+ streets, as outlined in a report by Hamilton Infrastructure, as detailed by the City of Hamilton.

Among the completed projects, several were highlighted for easing resident travel and bolstering safety: the likes of Millville Avenue, Cleveland Avenue, and Greenwood Boulevard saw extensive improvements. Notably, the "Wasserman Road – Safe Routes to School" project has been cited as a key initiative for community protection, according to the City of Hamilton. Nevertheless, works on Ross Avenue, Hancock Avenue, and Hanover Avenue are still pressing forward, indicating that the city's efforts at enhancement are ongoing, despite the year coming to a close.

In a significant funding boost for infrastructure upgrades, Hamilton managed to secure a notable $7.3 million in grants in 2025. These funds support various projects, including Park Avenue's resurfacing and the RiversEdge/Marcum to Black Street Connection. The city aims to utilize these funds across numerous essential resurfacing and repair projects, slated through 2027.

Looking into the future, 2026 holds a continuation of this momentum with a bevy of improvements on the city's agenda. Infrastructure upgrades will persist with the 2026 Resurfacing Program and the Belle Avenue, Dixie Highway & Erie Boulevard Intersections projects. These plans will not only undergird the quality of Hamilton's streets but, aim to foster safer and more cohesive travel throughout the cityscape.
