Hernando County residents looking to get the scoop on local happenings over a virtual cup of joe can tune in to the second season of "Coffee with the County." The Hernando County Government's laid-back podcast series has once again taken to the airwaves and is now available on their YouTube channel where County officials and community figures spill the beans on everything from public works to policy changes.

According to a recent social media post by Hernando County Government, episode three of the new season features a special guest, Coastal Waste & Recycling Market Area President, Travis Hitchcock. Discussing a change in gears for the region's refuse, Hitchcock outlines what residents can expect when the new waste collection provider gets rolling come January 2, 2026.

This Thanksgiving, Waste Connections is adjusting its schedule to account for the holiday. Residents with Thursday or Friday pickup will have service one day later—Thursday’s collection moves to Friday, and Friday’s shifts to Saturday.

By bringing in high-profile guests such as Hitchcock, "Coffee with the County" aims to offer a direct line to information that might otherwise get lost in the static of a typical newscycle. Travis Hitchcock, talking about his appearance, was shared enthusiasm for the platform's reach and the chance to connect with residents, "As we rollout our new service, the podcast will be instrumental in educating the community and addressing their concerns," he said.

Whether you're looking to stay informed on County affairs or simply searching for a casual listen with local flavor, "Coffee with the County" seems poised to satisfy that particular brew of curiosity.
