Shortly after the attack, the Honolulu Police took to Facebook to alert the public about the incident stating, "On Saturday, October 25, 2025, at approximately 11:00 p.m., a 58-year-old female and a 52-year-old male were inside the female's residence when the suspect, 53-year-old male Robert Malabey Jr, attacked both victims with a hammer, causing injury."
However, the manhunt came to a swift resolution. According to a follow-up announcement by the Honolulu Police, Robert Malabey Jr. was apprehended by the Sheriff Division of the Department of Law Enforcement. The arrest took place last Friday, with the department expressing gratitude towards the public's efforts in their pursuit of the suspect.
The official update regarding the arrest was also shared on the Honolulu Police Department's Facebook page, with the message, "On November 21, the Sheriff Division of the Department of Law Enforcement arrested 53-year-old Robert Malabey Jr. for a $100,000 warrant.
