
The Honolulu Police Department reported a violent incident that unfolded within the confines of a residence on October 25, 2025. At around 11 p.m., a 58-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man suffered injuries after being attacked by a suspect wielding a hammer. The suspect, identified as 53-year-old Robert Malabey Jr., remained at large following the incident, prompting law enforcement to issue a $100,000 warrant for his arrest. The police department urged the public via social media to consider Malabey armed and dangerous and to call CrimeStoppers with any relevant information.
Shortly after the attack, the Honolulu Police took to Facebook to alert the public about the incident stating, "On Saturday, October 25, 2025, at approximately 11:00 p.m., a 58-year-old female and a 52-year-old male were inside the female's residence when the suspect, 53-year-old male Robert Malabey Jr, attacked both victims with a hammer, causing injury."
However, the manhunt came to a swift resolution. According to a follow-up announcement by the Honolulu Police, Robert Malabey Jr. was apprehended by the Sheriff Division of the Department of Law Enforcement. The arrest took place last Friday, with the department expressing gratitude towards the public's efforts in their pursuit of the suspect.
The official update regarding the arrest was also shared on the Honolulu Police Department's Facebook page, with the message, "On November 21, the Sheriff Division of the Department of Law Enforcement arrested 53-year-old Robert Malabey Jr. for a $100,000 warrant. Mahalo to the public for your assistance."
