
Kunane Dreier has been named the 2025 recipient of the Suzanne Richmond-Crum Award by the Hawai‘i Department of Health’s Harm Reduction Services Branch. The award will be presented on World AIDS Day at Honolulu’s Church of Crossroads in recognition of Dreier’s work in HIV services, homelessness, and transgender health, the Hawaii Department of Health said on Friday.
Kunane Dreier, a leader at the Hawai‘i Health and Harm Reduction Center, has been named the 2025 Suzanne Richmond-Crum Award recipient. With 23 years in HIV and sexual health programs, Dreier has worked to expand access to prevention and treatment while fostering culturally respectful public health practices. Peter Silva of Kumukahi Health + Wellness praised Dreier’s leadership and commitment to community-focused care, the Hawai‘i Department of Health said.
The Suzanne Richmond-Crum Award honors Richmond-Crum’s decade-long contributions to HIV services before her passing in 2004. Dreier will receive the 2025 award at a ceremony in Honolulu on World AIDS Day, recognizing his work in HIV prevention and treatment across Hawai‘i.
Hawai‘i’s World AIDS Day on Monday carries the theme “Imua: Together We End AIDS.” The event will feature the 22nd presentation of the Suzanne Richmond-Crum Award, honoring Kunane Dreier, and attendees can join in person or via Zoom, according to the Hawai‘i Department of Health.
