Wilbert Sequeiros, a former Houston ISD and Klein ISD teacher and soccer coach, has been extradited back to Texas after being caught in Peru. He was previously out on bond while facing charges of sexual assault involving at least seven children, both boys and girls, aged 7 to 10, according to Click2Houston.
The search for Sequeiros involved multiple agencies, including the U.S. Marshals, Peruvian authorities, INTERPOL, and the Department of Justice Office of International Affairs, leading to his arrest and extradition after he fled the country while out on bond. At the time, he faced serious charges related to child sexual assault, including allegations from 2019 by an 8-year-old student who said Sequeiros "would touch him inappropriately and kiss him" on "multiple days both during and after school," as reported by KHOU.
Detective Ryan Hottman and the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offender Task Force played key roles in locating Sequeiros in Peru. Sequeiros was already on bond for seven other felony sexual cases involving children and now awaits trial in a Houston courtroom.
