On Sunday, a gunshot was reported at a hotel on 2451 Hayes Road, resulting in the death of 25-year-old Jaylon Ward. Police responded around 3:15 a.m., and despite paramedics’ efforts, Ward was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the City of Houston.
Authorities have charged 23-year-old Gabriel Isaiah Menefee with murder, and his booking photo was released by the 263rd Criminal District Court. Menefee was arrested on Thursday, following an investigation linking him to the fatal shooting, as reported by the City of Houston.
17-year-old Kaleb Bates has been charged with auto theft connected to the murder of Jaylon Ward on Hayes Road. He was booked in the 263rd Criminal District Court, and his booking photo is public. Another person, Menefee, has also been arrested in connection with the case.
