Early Sunday morning, a tragic shooting occurred in Houston's 7400 block of Lavender Street, leaving one young man dead and two injured. Houston Police Department officers found a gray SUV in a ditch around 1:40 a.m., containing a male victim suffering from a fatal gunshot wound, pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics responding with the Houston Fire Department. According to an official statement from the City of Houston, the identity of the 17-year-old deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
Two other male victims were transported with gunshot wounds to the hospital, where they are expected to survive their injuries.
