The Houston Police Department is looking into a fatal car crash that happened in the early hours of Sunday on the 8200 block of Broadway Street. The incident, which occurred around 1:35 a.m., involved two high-speed vehicles, according to the City of Houston news release. Both cars, identified as Infiniti Q50s—one white and one black—reportedly lost control and collided with each other.
Sergeant M. Barrow and Officer T. Johnson of the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division are on the case, as the crash resulted in the deaths of two males from the black Infiniti. These victims were ejected from their car after it hit a bus stop and a tree before catching fire. The names of the deceased have not been disclosed, pending familial notification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
As for the white Infiniti Q50, witnesses report that after sustaining serious damage to its front end, two individuals were seen abandoning the vehicle and fleeing the scene. Law enforcement is now actively seeking information from the public that could lead to the identification of these persons of interest.
