The Town of Indian Trail is joining forces with the American Red Cross to organize a blood drive next Friday. With an urgent call for donors, the drive will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Shirley Howe Community Room at the Indian Trail Town Hall, located on 315 Matthews-Indian Trail Road.
Interested donors have the option to swiftly sign up either online or by reaching out to 1-800-RED CROSS. In an effort to bolster the blood supply, the Red Cross is emphasizing the need for type O, B-, and A- donors to consider making a Power Red donation, which allows donors to give a concentrated dose of red blood cells during a single donation. "Red blood cells are the most transfused blood component," says the invitation on the town's website.
Those who come forward to donate will not only contribute to a critical community need but will also be rewarded with a $15 e-gift card, to be used at a merchant of their choice. Donors can save precious time on the day of their appointment by completing their RapidPass, which can be filled out online. This process includes the pre-donation reading and the necessary health history questions. "Anyone interested in helping can save up to 15 minutes on the day of their appointment by filling out their RapidPass," details the town's announcement.
If December 5 isn't convenient, potential donors have the opportunity to still make a difference by scheduling an appointment at Indian Trail’s Red Cross Blood and Platelet Donation Center. The center operates Sunday through Thursday and is located at 5880 W Hwy 74, Suite #204. Every donation is a step towards replenishing the urgent need for blood and the Indian Trail community is coming together to provide a vital lifeline to those in need.
