
A 15-year-old boy was arrested in Northeast Washington, D.C., after displaying a handgun near a public school. Police say he is being charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
The incident occurred on Thursday around 1:00 p.m., when a DC Public Schools officer saw the teen reveal a handgun while approaching another individual. The officer detained him until First District MPD officers arrived and took him into custody, as reported by the Metropolitan Police Department.
Metropolitan Police Department officers arrested a teen and recovered the handgun involved. The teen’s identity was not released because the suspect is a juvenile. The teen was charged with Carrying a Pistol Without a License and Possession of Unregistered Ammunition.
