Looking to declutter before the holiday rush? Goodwill Industries has your back with a reuse collection event set for next Friday. The community effort to help Kaua‘i keep reusable goods out of landfills is scheduled for November 21, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kaua‘i Resource Center, located at 3460 Ahukini Road in Līhu‘e.
According to an announcement from the County of Kauai, residents and local businesses can bring a variety of items that they no longer need such as clothing, small furniture, kitchen items, children's toys, books, and shoes. Even clothing that has been worn down by time and wear, stained, or torn is welcome. The organizers emphasize that this event is not for disposing of eWaste, chemicals, appliances, or broken items.
In the interest of public safety and to navigate through the maze of heavy machinery, Goodwill requests that attendees stay in their vehicles while on-site. This procedure is meant to streamline the process and prevent any chance of injury while unloading hefty objects.
