As Thanksgiving approaches, the City of Keller prepares for the traditional holiday closure of city facilities; residents should note that city offices, including its renowned public spaces such as the Keller Public Library and the Keller Senior Activities Center, will not be open on Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28, for the Thanksgiving holiday, according to an official announcement made by the City of Keller. Inhabitants looking for a workout can still hit The Keller Pointe, which will keep its doors open with adjusted hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the day following Thanksgiving, offering a brief respite from the otherwise quiet streets.
Not to be left out of the holiday festivities, the community's waste management services are also taking a brief pause, as reported by the City of Keller, there will be a shift in garbage and recycling services, with Thursday collections happening on Friday and then Friday's rounds being moved to Saturday creating a short delay but ensuring the festive period is clean and orderly. Those who'd typically haul their bins to the curb on Thursday should plan to do so on Friday, and those with Friday pickups will need to wait until Saturday to see their refuse hauled away.
This schedule rearrangement is a small reminder of the collective pause that comes with Thanksgiving, with even the most routine operations, such as waste collection, honoring the spirit of gratitude and togetherness that the holiday symbolizes.
