The Las Cruces Regional Aquatic Center is set for its yearly ritual of maintenance and inspection, effectively closing its pools to the masses from November 16 to 23, 2025. Patrons looking to dive into their regular swim routines or partake in aquatic fitness classes will have to set their sights elsewhere, as these activities are suspended until the center resumes normal operations on November 24. It's a temporary dry spell for the local swimmers, as reported by the City of Las Cruces.
For those keen to keep their strokes steady, the Las Cruces Natatorium, sharing an address just a lane away at 1405 E. Hadley Ave., will offer a lifeboat with extended hours. Weekday warriors can plunge in from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., while Saturday swimmers have between 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. to get their laps in before the facility closes on Sunday. This alternative comes as a relief to community members who rely on a consistent aquatic schedule for fitness and leisure, especially when the usual options are out of reach.
On the flipside, individuals who prefer dry land training aren't left high and dry. The Fitness Center housed within the Regional Aquatic Center remains open November 17 through 19, sticking to the script of its regular hours and programming. It does, however, hit pause on November 20 and 21, reopening on Saturday, November 22, presumably refreshed and ready to welcome fitness enthusiasts back to its embrace for the normal regimen of physical exertion.
