
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is asking the public for help in locating 79-year-old Guerrero Navarrete Chavez, who went missing on Monday near East Lake Mead and Sloan. Authorities are concerned for his safety as he may be in extreme emotional distress and in need of medical attention, as reported by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
Chavez is 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs about 130 pounds, has brown eyes and gray hair, and uses a blue and black walker. When last seen, he was wearing a hat, black shirt with a white undershirt, black pajama pants with a Grinch face, and black shoes, as stated by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department on their X account, hospitals have been asked to check their records for Guerrero Navarrete Chavez and contact the police immediately if they have any information. Under HIPAA rules (45 C.F.R. §164.512), hospitals are allowed to share information with law enforcement for missing persons cases. Anyone with information about Chavez’s whereabouts is asked to contact LVMPD at (702) 828-3111, the Missing Persons Detail at (702) 828-2907 during business hours, or by email at [email protected].
