Last Saturday evening at around 5:30 p.m., the League City Police Department responded to a disturbance on the 2200 block of Golden Sails Drive. They found 34-year-old Jamane Herod had fired a gun during an argument. He was holding one of his children and a pistol on his right hip and refused to surrender, going back inside the home, as reported by Click2Houston.
Herod was reported by his wife to be inside their home with their children while armed. Officers saw him briefly come outside holding a gun and a child before going back inside, according to ABC13. The Combined Agency Response Team, including SWAT and negotiators from League City, Pearland, Alvin, and Webster, responded. After negotiations, Herod surrendered and was arrested, facing charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The League City Police Department ended a standoff when Herod left his house unarmed and was taken into custody. SWAT officers and negotiators were involved, and the mother and her children were safely reunited. The League City Police Department is continuing its investigation and asks anyone with information to come forward.
