The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office in Nevada recently capped off their first-ever Cops 4 Kids Coloring Contest with a sweet local touch. The event, aimed at fostering a creative connection between law enforcement and youth, culminated in celebrations across several schools where students had their artistry recognized—and rewarded with more than just accolades.
According to a social media post by the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, the elementary school participants were treated to a Root Beer Float Party. At this bubbly bash, a winner from each grade level in every participating school was handed ten crisp one-dollar bills. Meanwhile, middle and high school students received candy bars simply for sharing their artwork—with top winners taking home prizes tailored to their age groups.
At the middle school level, student Kaelyn Neighbor was announced as the winner, choosing a TV as her prize. In the high stakes of high school competition, Renee Poulson clinched the top spot and selected a $150 Amazon gift card as her reward. Poulson's digital artwork received the additional honor of being turned into a custom sticker for deputies to distribute.
The initiative has been met with enthusiasm, and with a thank-you to students, their families, and the educators who facilitated the contest's success, the Sheriff's Office is looking forward to making this an annual celebration.
