In a substantial drug bust last Thursday, Hernando County Sheriff's Office Vice and Narcotics Unit alongside the SWAT Team, conducted a search warrant at a residence known for selling large quantities of fentanyl. The house, located at 3379 Coronet Court in Spring Hill, became the focal point of the operation following an extensive narcotics investigation, as reported by Hernando County Sheriff's Office.
Mark Andrew Hartwell, with a history of 18 prior felony convictions, was identified as the primary suspect in the narcotics distribution network. During the search, six individuals were detained, and detectives found not only fentanyl but also methamphetamine, marijuana, various pills, and drug paraphernalia. Evidence of an attempted disposal of fentanyl into a water-filled tub was discovered as law enforcement entered the premises, the Sheriff's Office said.
The operation resulted in multiple arrests, including that of Hartwell, who faces charges ranging from trafficking in fentanyl to the unlawful use of a two-way communication device. Due to his association with the Aryan Brotherhood, Hartwell was held with no bond. The other individuals detained, Victoria Vainisi, Stephanie Malone, Nicholas Petrisin, Randall Jessie, and Christopher Hope were all booked on possession charges and were granted bonds in accordance with Florida bond schedule guidelines, excluding Hartwell, who was denied bond.
Sheriff Al Nienhuis made it clear, "the Hernando County Sheriff's Office remains committed to combating illegal narcotics activity and removing dangerous drugs — such as fentanyl — from the streets of Hernando County."
