Montgomery County is reeling from a tragic incident after a man and a woman were found dead in an apparent murder-suicide on Wednesday. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, responding to a domestic dispute call on FM 1314 and SH 99, later located a blue Chevrolet pickup truck in the 202000 block of Duester Lane in Porter. Inside, the deputies discovered the bodies of Kevin Doak, 41, and Victoria Yates, 28, as reported by Click2Houston.
Investigators from the Major Crimes Unit, crime scene analysts, and the Montgomery County Medical Examiner’s Office quickly responded to the scene. Early evidence suggests the case is a murder-suicide, officials said. Both individuals had gunshot wounds, which supports this conclusion, according to KHOU.
Earlier in the day, dispatchers got a call to watch for a blue pickup truck after witnesses reported a man and woman fighting inside. Deputies from the Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office later found the truck with two people dead inside, as detailed by KHOU.
Authorities are still working to confirm the relationship between Doak and Yates but say there’s no danger to the public. The investigation is ongoing, and more details will be shared as officials release new information, as per KHOU.
