A violent incident in North Hills left a man and a woman hospitalized after being stabbed inside an apartment late Monday night. ABC7 reports that authorities responded to the scene on the 8900 block of Orion Avenue shortly before 10 p.m., where both victims were found and later transported to the hospital in stable condition.
The Los Angeles Police Department is actively searching for the suspect, who remains at large; the suspect's description has not been provided to the public yet, leaving residents concerned for their safety, and the motive for the attack is still under investigation, with the victims' and assailant's relationship murk,y according to a statement from the LAPD NBC Los Angeles detailed.
While initial reports indicated that the victims and the attacker might have known each other, KTLA noted that upon arrival at the scene, both victims, identified as 35 years old, were conscious but in a bloodied state as they were being loaded into ambulances. The identity of the victims has not yet been disclosed by police.
Details of the incident remain scant—police are investigating reports that the male suspect, who was wearing a dark hoodie and a blue hat, entered the residence, stabbed the victims before fleeing, which adds another layer of concern for the local community. No suspect was located in the immediate area when officers first arrived on the scene, as KTLA reported.
The investigation into this violent stabbing is ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and contact the LAPD to assist in apprehending the individual responsible for this crime and to help prevent future such occurrences in the North Hills community.
