
A man is now facing charges following a road rage altercation that escalated into gunfire over the weekend on FM 529 in Harris County, as reported by authorities. Franklin Sael Alvarado, age 35, was apprehended on Saturday after the violent incident which took place that afternoon, according to CW39.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said three people were in a truck driving east when a man named Alvarado began driving aggressively. The truck’s driver honked at him, and Alvarado responded by pulling out a shotgun. As the truck tried to drive away, Alvarado allegedly fired at it, hitting the vehicle and injuring a female passenger, according to officials, as reported by KHOU.
The victim, who was hit by shrapnel in the back of her head, survived what authorities are describing as a non-life-threatening injury, as KHOU reports. She was promptly taken to a nearby hospital to receive the necessary medical attention for her wounds.
After the shooting, Alvarado reportedly ran from the scene but was later found and arrested nearby. Sheriff Gonzalez said he is charged with one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of third-degree deadly conduct, as per KHOU.
