Early on Saturday, November 15, a stabbing incident in rural Earlsboro led to the swift arrest of Ronaldo Zavala. Authorities were called to the scene at around 1:10 a.m. after a masked male reportedly assaulted a female victim, inflicting multiple stab wounds to her neck and wrist, and also injuring a male resident attempting to stop the attack; the suspect fled in a vehicle before deputies could arrive, as announced by the Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office via a recent social media post.
The subsequent investigation, involving a partnership with the 23rd Judicial District, District Attorney's Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, and the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office, led directly to Zavala, a resident of Newalla, who was arrested after a search warrant at his home yielded incriminating evidence linking Zavala with the crime. Zavala is currently housed in Pottawatomie County Jail, facing charges of Aggravated Assault and Battery and Assault and Battery While Masked or Disguised.
The female victim, who, according to the Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office report, sustained fourteen stab wounds, was admitted to a local hospital and remains in a critical but stable state. The male victim's condition was not detailed in the press statement.
Officials say the investigation into the early-morning violence in Earlsboro is ongoing, and additional charges against Zavala are possible. As the case develops, the community is left to process the incident, with neighbors reporting distress and a shaken sense of safety following the attack.
