The Arlington Police Department is currently conducting an investigation following a deadly collision that claimed the life of an unidentified man on Sunday. The incident occurred at the junction of Pioneer Parkway & S. Cooper Street, where a 2008 Honda Civic collided with a 2012 Ford Explorer, according to a press release from the Arlington Police Department.
It was reported by the Arlington Police that around 3:36 a.m., the Civic, heading west along Pioneer Parkway, ran a red light, and the Explorer, having the green light while traveling north on Cooper Street, entered the intersection subsequently, and the tragic impact happened. The driver of the Civic, who was found without any form of identification, sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The occupants of the Ford Explorer, including its driver and two passengers, were fortunate to survive the crash with injuries deemed non-life-threatening, for which they received medical attention at a hospital. With speed being a possible contributing factor, the authorities have not yet concluded their investigation, leaving the cause of the accident still under scrutiny.
